EAST MIDLANDS UKTI RUSSIA DAY 27 JANUARY 2010
This event was attended by Barry Martin and Margaret Rowse on behalf of the collective, held at Loughborough University. The Russia Service Collective had a stand at this event. The day was well attended with approximately 150 people. We had printed the ‘Collective’ leaflet advertising all of the group’s services.
DOING BUSINESS WITH BELARUS, RUSSIA & UKRAINE 04 FEBRUARY 2010
This event was held in Cardiff, Wales and was a small and select audience, the Collective was represented by Barry Martin and David Cant of Albion (Overseas) Ltd. This was part of a two day event in Wales. The theme was awareness seminar. This was hosted by International Business Wales. The Service Collective also had a stand at this event and leaflets were distributed.
Barry Martin gave a 40 minute talk on the logistics of getting to Russia and David Cant gave a presentation on how to trade with Russia.
Gary O’Grady of Blackthorne Transport and Charlie Fleming of SGS also attended and each gave a presentation to the audience.

This presentation was held in Wrexham, Wales and was given on the same basis as the above event in Cardiff with a similar specially chosen audience.

This event was attended by Barry Martin and Margaret Rowse from The Russia House and David Cant of Albion (Overseas) Ltd. The event was organized by TNG and was held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in London. The event was attended by high profile delegates from Russia and was a one day conference. The delegates included the President of Moscow Banks Association, President of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs and many others.
The Collective again took a stand at this event and distributed leaflets and information on all of the collective member companies. This was a very well attended event from prestigious organisations.
RUSSIA MIDLANDS BUSINESS CLUB 25TH MARCH 2010
This event was hosted by the Russia Midlands Business club and held in Derby an evening event, attended by Anna Sinelnikova of RMBC and Tim Jelley of UKTI. The attendees were businesses and manufacturers from the north of England interested in working and doing business with Russia. These RMBC events are always very well attended.
LANCASHIRE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 25 MARCH 2010
This event was organized by the Lancashire Chamber of Commerce on Doing Business with Russia and was attended by Barry Martin and Margaret Rowse from The Russia House, Charlie Fleming of SGS and David Cant of Albion(Overseas) Ltd.
This was an afternoon event held in Blackpool, Lancs. And the audience consisted of businesses who wanted to trade with Russia. David, Barry and Charlie all gave power point presentations and the audience, although small were well targeted.
CHANGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN
TODAY’S RUSSIA 9TH APRIL 2010
This event was held at the University of Edinburgh Business School and was organised and hosted by Jenny Carr of the Scotland Russia Forum. The event was a full day event from 10.00 – 4.00pm and was attended by Russian Embassy officials, British Embassy officials flown from Moscow for the event and was attended by around 120 people. The event focused on all aspects of doing business with Russia. David Cant of Albion (Overseas) Ltd chaired the meeting. The Collective had a stand presence at this event and brochures were distributed. RBCC also gave a presentation.
SMMT INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS GROUP 15 JUNE 2010
This event was held at Nissan’s Cranfield Technical Centre in Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire. An afternoon event for a select group of companies in the Automotive sector. The meeting was chaired by Richard Long and presentations were given by Barry Martin on Visas and Travel to Russia, Charlie Fleming on Certification of goods and David Cant on Trading with Russia. The event although small was very useful and leaflets on the collective were available.
TRADING WITH RUSSIA 16 JUNE 2010
This was organised by Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and was hosted by HSBC and held in their offices in Norwich, Norfolk. This was an afternoon/evening event attended by Barry Martin / Margaret Rowse The Russia House, David Cant / Margaret Sarjeant Albion (Overseas) Ltd and Charlie Fleming SGS Ltd.
The theme was doing business in Russia and power point presentations were given by Barry Martin / David Cant and Charlie Fleming. Brochures were available at this event.
RBCC SUMMER FORUM 24 JUNE 2010
This event was attended by Barry Martin / Margaret Rowse and was held at the Institute of Directors in London. This was a morning seminar attended by around 100 people with meetings on Law and on Energy sectors followed by a networking lunch. Organized by RBCC and preceded by a reception at the RAC club in Pall Mall London the night before. This event was well attended and The Russia House as part sponsors had a stand there and collective leaflets were on display.
There are other events already arranged for September and October of this year. We have tried to avoid July and August meetings as these are holiday months in UK so this would affect audience size.
As well as attending all of the above events, we have had an advert in the Russo British Chamber of Commerce Bulletin and in the E News of Russia Midlands Business Club.
In November 2009 the Collective sponsored the one day event Russia: Practical Solutions held in Birmingham. For more information on Russia: Practical Solutions please visit the website on
