In July 2009, retail spending in Russia fell by 8.2% compared to the same period in 2008, the biggest slide recorded for almost ten years. Pre‐crisis, consumer retail had been one of Russia’s great success stories, with an average year‐on‐year increase of just under 30% between 2000 and 2007. As Russia gradually emerges from its economic downturn, the news is slowly becoming more positive, but how can companies now best capitalise on the slight return in consumer confidence?
Now in its fourth year, the RBCC St Petersburg International Retail Forum continues to provide an unrivalled platform for professionals engaged in this vitally important sector to meet and exchange opinions, predictions and experience.
