Having just a couple of days to get 120 lbs of printed matter to a Pfizer conference in St. Petersburg, Russia, Knowledge Point were struggling to find a carrier with the proven ability to help their situation.

Blackthorne were called and everything was collected promptly in the afternoon and sent on its way. Knowing the urgency and time sensitivity of the shipment Blackthorne organised both the most efficient and cost effective route to keep within the very tight time parameters. The printed matter was delivered the next day in St. Petersburg, customs cleared to the exact person at the conference.

Not only was a proof of delivery supplied but also a photograph of the shipment on site for extra reassurance.

Black & Veach

As a key information and research provider in the energy sector Black & Veach need timely and precise research completed all over the world including Russia. However this was the problem.

Their research software modules are pre loaded on to PCs and delivered to the researcher. The researchers in Russia were constantly having problems importing the PCs and in most cases the PCs were returned sometimes taking up to five months.

Blackthorne were contacted on a Friday afternoon with a particularly urgent request to get a PC to Moscow direct to the researcher. Knowing exactly how to import these products in to Russia Blackthorne was able to collect the PC within one hour and deliver it on the following Monday morning.

Open University

The Open University run an MBA centre in Moscow and were having problems importing their course work materials in to Russia.

Sometimes they would get through after prolonged delays and often they would be returned back. Blackthorne International Transport were contacted to have a look at the problems and if possible resolve them.

First we identified what their issues were and where the problem lay which as ever was with the customs clearance. Blackthorne introduced a new procedure to Open University to ease the problem and now ship their materials to Moscow on a regular basis on a service which takes just 4 days each time which gave Open University a much shorter lead time and no delays to students waiting for their materials.
